Protect Your Client's Skin First — Identifying and Preventing Over-treatment In Real Time (0.2 CEUs)

The objective of this lecture is to discuss the evaluation of the skin before and during service to assess the proper probe selection and modality types and levels. I will present photographs and hopefully a video of people in real time to assess what to watch for to prevent over treatment and strong skin reactions. We will discuss ways to avoid using client social media forms for negative reasons. My background and Aesthetics will help me to educate attendees on evaluating moisture content by considering topical products, age, medications, etc and how that will impact treatment. We will explore how topical numbing creams impact the skin tissue, and, therefore the treatment parameters. It is my intention to use a few willing volunteers upon which to inflict some intentional over treatment damage so that we can take progress photos as the wounds heal and discuss what "went wrong". (This will be done on inconspicuous body areas.) we will also cover the natural steps of wound healing with some tips on how the client can support proper healing with a good diet and topicals.
